The Hundred Dresses: Day 19

Today’s gown is one of my favorites:

I blogged about it last  year (there’s a photo of me in it at that post, with perk surprise lexicographers!) It’s from this pattern, whichI truly like:

Even though the completed skirt is nowhere near as full as the pattern envelope would suggest. as well as anyway, I put pockets in it (copying those of simplicity 1577, natch):

I’m extremely delighted with exactly how the print matched at the waistline:

The zipper right here is about a C+. I have come up with an undetectable zipper grading scale, would you like to hear it? After the picture:

Zipper Grading System:

A zipper: can’t see it, genuinely undetectable except for the pull, midsection seam completely matched;

B zipper: puckering or  indication that zipper exists (besides the pull); no zipper tape visible;

C zipper: zipper tape visible;

D zipper: unwearable, need to be ripped out as well as redone;

F zipper: makes entire gown unfixable, may also cut the thing up for quilt squares.

Here’s the sleeve, completed with bias binding:

And the back. I’m just going to believe that I don’t look from the back what my gowns look like from the back — my gown type is extremely persnickety as well as always catches the material across the back:

Here’s a photo of the material scale, just since I discovered it in my Flickr set:

I truly such as this gown because: it fits well (dress type back view notwithstanding); it’s formal sufficient to provide a talk in however comfortable sufficient to take pleasure in myself in; as well as also, I like that brick.jpgnk as well as damaged plaids. A twofer! I normally wear it with a black cardigan as well as cent loafers.

And in The-Hundred-Dresses-The-Book news — if you’ve already checked out it, would you think about leaving a evaluation somewhere? (Maybe Amazon?) It’s absolutely one of the things that people utilize to choose whether they will select The Hundred gowns over, say, this one.
