Party Pants—Because The weather Doesn’t respect Your Social Life
pants like to party! Don’t ignore the entire section of your closet that never feels a draft this holiday season. I know we’re all conditioned to think that a seasonal night out requires a dress or festive top of some kind, but the right pair of party pants can not only allow you to top things off with your favorite cozy sweater, but elevate the entire ensemble, too.
The trick here is texture—we’re talking leather, satin, velvet. The right amount of polish and formality in a pant means you can get away with staying genuinely warm on top—while still looking genuinely good. Here, I’m demonstrating the fine art of the party pant with a look I got entirely from Saks. I’m pairing an impossibly cozy cable knit by Theory with a luxe, wide-leg velvet pant by Lafayette 148 new York. It’s a rich, monochromatic moment that sacrifices nothing. I can have fun, feel festive, and not have to ask the waiter for enough extra napkins to form a quilt.

There are many more takes on this party trick—in fact, I have this silky pair of satin pants and this sweater hanging in my closet for a holiday party we’re attending later this week. Both are also from Saks because what fashion needs can’t be solved with a Saks cart I ask you? Don’t sleep on leather options either, nothing lends itself better to holiday season polish than a perfectly fitting leather trouser, like this favorite pair you might have seen me share on Instagram recently. If you’re looking for even more inspo, check out a full round up of perfect pairings for when you want to go out, but you don’t want to come back with frostbite. happy Holidays, friends.
